Tactile Experience

So, although this is a project from last semester, I avoided posting it until now for two reasons:

1. Although I'm happy with how this project turned out, I never thought it was my best work.
2. The photos cannot do it justice; it is about the performative aspect.

But, finally, I am posting it, because there is a video on Youtube now! My performance shows up about 1 minute into it.

The idea of the project was to make a wearable sculpture and a performance to go with that sculpture, all to be worn and performed by the creators at the Wearable Sculpture Dance Party in the Turner Gallery, the Friday night before Halloween. They couldn't be costumes; they had to be wearable sculptures. There had to be at least one sewn or papermaking aspect of the sculpture.

We Were the Memory of a Place

22" x 26" x 18"
Hot glue, cinder blocks, river stones

This project has a lot to do with memory, but maybe not in a way that I can share with you; a few certain memories that I have, that I share with only one or two other people, centering on a specific physical place that has been surprisingly important to me in the past few years. Some things can't be told or shared entirely.

The Perfect Human Project

30" x 40"
Charcoal

When I have a better photo of this, I will definitely put it up. But for right now, this is hanging out on the wall of my living room. The lighting is terrible... That's what fluorescent lighting mixed with an itty bitty clamp light will get you.
